An Urgent Desire for Revival
Many churches have become comfortable and content, losing a sense of urgency for renewal. Christians in these communities no longer weep for those locked in brokenness, the ones lacking hope or freedom. Many Christians no longer feel the urgent need to see redemption come to those who have yet to say to Jesus, “Save me! I’m yours.” Conversely, the early church lived with an expectation of Christ’s return and a deep burden for others.
I fear that too many of us have settled into a routine religious life instead of pressing into the fullness of God’s power. Let us consider how much time we spend seeking entertainment and comfort compared to seeking God in prayer. We must admit that revival is delayed or muted because we do not truly desire it. Our commitments always reflect our desires. So, let’s call for our church to wake up from any spiritual slumber, repent of any apathy, and fervently seek God for a fresh outpouring of His Spirit.
2/25/25 Prayer Points:
- Father, awaken our hearts from spiritual complacency and give us a burning passion for revival.
- Break our hearts for the lost, that we may weep for souls as Jesus did.
- Teach us to live with urgency, redeeming the time and making every moment count for Your kingdom.
