Urgency
When the Church loses sight of God’s Eternal Kingdom, we can get too comfortable and live as if this world is our home. We can become implicit universalists, with such nuanced views that any urgency for the plight of the unsaved is blunted. However, the Scriptures are plain: everyone will stand before God, and those without Christ will never know the hope, healing, freedom, and flourishing that He offers them freely.
If we truly believe that, we will bear witness to Jesus with passion — speaking of Him as a present friend. We will pray with urgency, and live with purpose. We must not waste time on trivial things but invest our lives in what truly matters — God’s kingdom and multiplying Family of God.
4/8/25 Prayer Points:
- Lord, give us an eternal perspective that fuels how we live, pray, and serve.
- Awaken our church to the reality of her mission, and its life-giving urgency.
- Let us labor with urgency, knowing that all Creation groans awaiting its soon-coming King.
