Prioritizing Prayer

Smitchell   -

Prayer is essential for renewal and the invigoration of any church, ours included. However, many today are so busy with programs and activities — good things in and of themselves — that it becomes easy to neglect prayer: the true source of God’s Presence and power. The early church, which turned the world upside down, was devoted to prayer (Acts 2:42). In contrast, prayer in our day has often been sidelined as an adornment rather than embraced as a lifeline.

History’s greatest revivals were all birthed in the secret place, where men and women labored in prayer until God moved. Shallow, routine prayers will not do. Only a return to intense, Spirit-led intercession will have the impact we desire. True renewal will never come through human effort alone but the Spirit will always move in response to earnest and persistent prayer.

2/18/25 Prayer Points:

  • Lord, stir within us a deep hunger for prayer and intimacy with You, so that we may seek You above all else.
  • Remove every distraction or complacency that hinders us from developing a shared life of fervent intercession.
  • Raise up more faith-filled, Spirit-led people at B4 who will labor in prayer, crying out for a mighty move of Your Spirit.
